During our visit to the 2024 Venice Biennale, as gallerists and art advisors, we were deeply struck by the Polish and Egyptian pavilions. The works on display, including Repeat After Me by the Polish collective Open Group and Drama 1882 by Wael Shawky for Egypt, used historical narratives to explore themes of identity, trauma, and resistance. These immersive installations reminded us of the power of art to connect the past and present, urging viewers to reflect on the complexities of our time.
