Antonio Bueno (Berlin, 1918 – Fiesole, 1984) was an Italian painter of Spanish origin. After studying in Spain and Switzerland, he settled in Italy in 1940. A versatile and tireless experimenter, his artistic journey spanned multiple styles, from post-impressionism to trompe-l’œil, from abstraction to neo-metaphysical painting, up to sign-based and pop art. His works, often distinguished by rounded forms and essential iconography, established him as a key figure in the Italian art scene. His definitive recognition came at the 1984 Venice Biennale, shortly before his passing.
